Devont'e Giovanni was born January 7th, Some time in the 80's in Denver, Colorado. Inspired and infatuated
with djs and music since the early age of 8 when his uncle Gilbert (DJ Rock) gave Devont'e
his first glimpse of the DJ world. From that day on, he was hooked. Doing everything
and anything he could to follow his uncle Gilbert, and long time family friend George
'Sweet G' Martinez of KDKO radio, Devont'e kept an eye and ear on the DJ world. Sneaking
into nightclubs at the age of thirteen to watch his uncle spin only made his ambition
grow that much stronger. In early 1993, a then dj by the name of Mike D Chill gave
Devont'e his first set of Technics turntables. At the time, Mike was also a producer
for Kut-n-Kru Records, working on his own album which also inspired Devont'e to pick
up the microphone and take on a whole new talent.

At the age of sixteen, Devont'e,
his best friend "Tha Rippa", and little brother odyssey formed a Hip-Hop group and a crew
called Deathside Records, creating so much of a buzz on the streets that Devont'e caught
the ear of businessman and concert promoter Robert "Real" Gallegos of Big Daddy Records
who signed Devont'e on the spot. Just as a tour and major CD release was in the making,
Devont'e recognized that his true passion was the turntables and the club scene.
Wasting no time, he got back on the turntables and started throwing numerous parties,
working numerous
clubs, and releasing a number of mixed cds. Young and ambitious, Devont'e strived
to make a name for himself. To date, Devont'e has independently
sold over 15,000 mixed cds. Quite an impressive achievement with limited help from
friends and no help from stores. Many of those same mixes are available
for purchase here on dj303.com.
